Srinagar/July,2: PDP’s Additional Pokémon Tagiq Rather and former President J&K EJAC
On Sunday said that the demise of  Sampat Prakash, a renowned Trade Union leader, has marked the end of an era, in Jammu and Kashmir’s history of trade union and rel8gious harmony.

In a statement issued here on Sunday Rafique Rather expressed deep shock and grief upon hearing the news of the passing away of Shri Sampat Prakash, a stalwart of the trade union movement and a dedicated social and political activist, who suffered a massive heart attack at his residence at Srinagar.

Rafique Rather said that Sampat Prakash was an  unparalleled trade union leader who dedicated his entire life in championing the rights and welfare of the working class, downtrodden, the oppressed, the unheard, voiceless and the disadvantaged. He also said that Sampat Prakash was the founder of the employees’ movement and described him encyclopedia of Jammu and Kashmir.

Rather said, throughout his career, Sampat Prakash demonstrated remarkable leadership skills and fearlessly advocated for the rights of marginalized sections of society and fought for the political rights of Jammu and Kashmir. His unwavering commitment to his principles earned him great admiration and respect across regions, religions, and all sections of society.

Rafique Rather revealed that Sampat Prakash called him on Eid day to extend greetings and had asked a meeting, which was scheduled soon after Eid. However, with the news of his passing away condolences have poured in from all corners of the region, and his sudden demise has left me profoundly shocked and deeply saddened. Rafique Rather emphasized that the loss of this stalwart is not only a loss to the trade union movement but also to the entire society. Sampat Prakash’s contributions to the region’s betterment, peace, and stability will be remembered for generations to come, and his dedication to the welfare of employees and tireless efforts for positive change will be sorely missed. His untimely demise has left a void that cannot be filled, added Rafique Rather.

Rather said, at this moment of grief, i extend my prayers for the departed soul of Sampat Prakash and pray for peace and solace for his family and loved ones, who are undoubtedly grappling with the pain of this immense loss.
