Udhampur : To review the progress of component wise works under Jal Jeevan Mission in the district, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Sachin Kumar Vaishya on Monday convened a meeting of officers and field functionaries of Jal Shakti Department here in Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex.
At the outset, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, Ashok Kumar Sharma gave a brief about the Sub division wise latest progress of works under Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme in the district.
Taking Sub Division wise review of works under Jal Jeevan Mission, he directed all the concerned officers to scale up pace of works under JJM to achieve the target within the stipulated time.
The SDMs were directed to conduct field visits in their respective jurisdictions and monitor the ongoing work and submit the report on a daily basis. He further directed the SDMs to hold review meetings and sort out the issues related to implementation of JJM in their areas. He also directed the officers to regularly monitor the quality and progress of all allotted works for time-bound completion.
The DC exhorted the officers to bring in notice of the SDMs the reasons for delay of any work and the details of the contractors responsible for the delay. The DC emphasized that every effort has to be made to ensure that the goal of tap water to all households is achieved as per the projected timeline.
