Bal Sabha organised at Wathoo, Shopian

Sabha aimed to address the diverse requirements of children: DDC Member, Raja Waheed

Shopian: A Bal Sabha was on Monday organised at Government Boys Middle School Wathoo in Keegam area of the district in presence of DDC Member, Raja Waheed.
The DDC member, DPO Shopian, Nisar Ahmad Malik and other officers interacted with the children and listened to them.
Speaking at the event, Raja said that Bal Sabha is the apex body of children’s groups in a village. He said that Bal Panchayats are mobilized so that children are educated and their potentialities identified for their development.
He said that the need of the hour is to make these children aware about their rights along with their proper fulfillment and special focus is laid on their health care and nutrition facilities.
The DDC Member said that District Administration is organising a range of activities aimed to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people besides informing them about their rights and duties.
He said that these children are being mobilized and their energies channelized by engaging them in productive activities.
A variety cultural programme and Martial Art programme was also presented by the students on this occasion.
Among others, Programme Officer, ICDS; BMO, Keller; District Manager, NRLM; ZEO, ZPEO, Auqaf Body, representatives from various departments, besides PRIs and prominent citizens were present at the event.
