3 drug peddlers held in Sopore, contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it had arrested 3 drug peddlers including 2 lady drug peddlers in Sopore and also recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police Party led by SHO Police Station Tarzoo at a checkpoint established at Sangrama Chowk intercepted three suspicious persons (2 ladies and one male) who tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully, adding therein that during search, Heroine like substance concealed in a nylon bag was recovered from their possession,and subsequently the male drug peddler was identified as Abdul Latief Gojar S/o Noor Muhammad Gojar R/o Gandoo, Doda.
Stating that the said accused were later on arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, Police in it’s statement further said that police has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated further investigation into the case.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police appealed people to cooperate with it curbing the menace of drugs from the society and reiterated that it will act tough against the criminals as per law.
