Poppy cultivation destroyed in B’gam: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has destroyed poppy cultivation spread over a vast area of land at Russu village of district Budgam.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Beerwah alongwith respectable citizens of the area headed by SHO Police Station Beerwah destroyed huge wild cannabis spread over nearly 5 Kanals of land at Russu village of district Budgam, adding therein that Police advised all those who have cultivated Poppy or any other narcotic substances anywhere in the district to destroy the same on their own, failing which they shall face strict action under law.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police appealed people to extend cooperation to it and come forward with any information regarding any kind of anti-social activity in their neighbourhood.
