CBC organises awareness on IDY – 2023 at Kandi-Rajouri

Rajouri: In connection with observance of 9th International Yoga Day, with the theme ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, the Field Office Rajouri of Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, on Friday organised Mini-ICOP here in Government Higher Secondary School-Kandi.
The aim of organizing this awareness programme was to acquaint students and common masses about the benefits of Yoga.
The People were made aware about benefits of practicing Yoga asanas for making life stress free, disease free and productive.
Earlier on International Day of Yoga, CBC Field Office, Rajouri organised a series of events at GHSS Rajouri. These events were organised under the Chairmanship of Roop Lal, Principal of the host Institute.
Surinder Mohan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kotranka was the Chief Guest and Sumit Kohli, Tehsildar Kotranka was the Guest of Honour. Dr Vinod Kumar Bhat, BMO and Sharda Kumari CDPO, ICDS Koteranka were also present at the programme.
In his address, the ADC urged the participants to practice Yogasnas regularly to feel the difference and make their lives healthy and fit. He also appreciated the efforts of CBC for making people of far flung and remote hilly areas aware about Yoga and AYUSH through its activities which included Mass Yoga Demonstration, Expert Lectures, Health camp and cultural programme. He was of the view that public participation and Jan Bagidhari will definitely play a crucial role in promoting the concept of Yoga.
Sumit Kohli, Tehsildar also addressed the gathering and said that Yogic practices are very beneficial for physical health, mental health and psychological health.
Roop Lal, Principal GHSS Kandi also addressed the gathering he said Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with self, the world and nature.
The session began at 9:00 am and continued till 10:30 am. Yoga was practiced under the supervision of Krishan Lal, Zila Prabhari, Patanjali Yog Peeth, Rajouri the Yog Guru. He taught various asanas, mudras, pranayama and Kriyas. Various Asanas like Vrikshasan, Vajarasan, Padamasan, Trikoneasan, Sarvangasan, Bhujangasan, Shirshasan etc. were practiced and their benefits were explained to the participants. The yoga session was attended by officials of Block Administration, common local masses of Kandi and students.
A free health camp was also organised in which Lady Doctors listened and advised girl students and distributed free medicines.
Drawing competition was also organized by CBC Rajouri at GHSS Kandi in which 25 students participated. Cultural items by Sraswati Sangeet Vidyalay, Empanelled troupes of CBC, Regional Office, Jammu was another attraction of these events.
