Seminar on “Role of J&K leaders in Freedom Struggle of India” held in GDC Tral

Tral: One Day Seminar on “Role of Jammu & Kashmir leaders in the Freedom Struggle of India” was organized by the Department of History & Public Administration, Government Degree College Tral on June 21, 2023.

The Seminar was held under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. In her welcome address Dr. Fehmeeda Wani, Head Department of History, remarked that the sole objective of freedom fighters was to make India a democratic, plural and prosperous state. “This is only because of the freedom fighters that we are enjoying our rights as enshrined in our constitution.”

Dr. M.Shafi Bhat, Department of Public Administration, delivered a special lecture on the theme “ Contribution of J&K Leaders in the Freedom Movement of India”. He stated that ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is a golden opportunity for retrospection, paying tributes to towering patriots of ideas, ideals and the resolve to build India of their dreams. He further stated that it is our collective responsibility to recognize their supreme sacrifice and restore the honor of our freedom fighters.

Student presentation was a part of the programme in which Aijaz Ahmad Mir, Zeeshan Masood, & Andleeb Bashir presented their papers on varied themes in which they highlighted the contribution of freedom fighters.

The Vote of Thanks was presented by Dr. Irshad Ahmad Dar, Lecturer Department of History. The proceedings of the Seminar was conducted by Dr. Aamir Rashid Khan, Department of Commerce.
