Pulwama : A book titled, Tral: Land, Legends and Landmarks, the English translation of a comprehensive book on Tral by Dr. Nisar Ahmad Bhat has been released in a function on Wednesday.

The function was held at Ikhlas Welfare Society Hall Tral, in which the book was released by Justice [Retired] Bashir Ahmad Kirmani, while G. R. Sufi, ZG Mohammad, Dr. Farooq Kaloo, Jeelani Qadri and Morifat Qadri were also present.

Tral: Land, Legends and Landmarks is a “valuable addition to our cultural and historical resource.”

The English translation comes 14 years after the original work in Urdu (Ainah Tral) was published in 2009.

Through this book, the author has looked deep into the history of Tral, precisely since the sixth century AD, and brought to the fore its story right up to our own times.

The author Dr. Nisar is a competent physician, “a reformer, a philanthropist and a fine human being deeply rooted in religion.”

His impressive contribution in the field of informative medical literature and cultural history is equally amazing and inspiring.

Dr. Nisar holds the degree of M. D. (Medicine) and is also a qualified practitioner of Tibb-e-Nabvi (Prophetic Medicine). He is the founder of Ikhalas Trust, a voluntary social and health sector organization located at Tral.

Under the aegis of the Trust, he runs a Madrasa and holds medical camps and provides free medical aid to the needy, while he is also actively involved in training of Haj pilgrims. His forthcoming projects include informative booklets on Haj and Umrah.
