Srinagar : Police in Budgam on Tuesday facilitated Police Community Partnership Group meetings (PCPG) at Police Station Beerwah & Police Post Pakherpora.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, at the Police Station Beerwah, the meeting was chaired by SHO PS Beerwah Inspector Mudasir Naseer while at Police Post Pakherpora, the meeting was chaired by SHO PS Charar-i- Sharief Inspector Mohd Yousuf. Besides, the meetings were attended by respectable citizens, representatives of various Mohalla committees, trade and transport unions.
During the meeting various issues of public importance including curbing drug menace and steps taken to curb substance abuse especially among teenagers was discussed. Chairing officer stressed upon the participants to spread awareness about drug abuse and its ill effects on society. Participants raised certain issues to which they were assured that whatever pertains to police will be resolved on priority. Chairing officer requested participants to cooperate with police in eradicating the drug menace and other social crimes so that peaceful atmosphere in the area is maintained.
On this occasion, the participants in the meeting assured their full co-operation to Police in tackling social evils and also appreciated the efforts of Police in facilitating community interaction meets where participants express their opinions freely.
