Arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha reviewed at Kupwara

Kupwara : On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat on Tuesday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements for upcoming festival of Eid-ul-Adha.
On the occasion, the ADC took a detailed review of all necessary arrangements to be put in place by different departments for smooth celebration of holy festival of Eid-ul-Adha in the district.
Regarding market checking, the ADC directed Tehsildars/AD Food, EOs of MCs and Legal Metrology to hold joint market inspections to check profiteering, black marketing of essential commodities by traders including Mutton, Chicken and vegetable and fruit vendors.
The Executive Engineer PDD Kupwara/Handwara was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply especially at all shrines/mosques where huge congregations are expected.
The AD Food was directed to ensure availability of essential commodities including Rice, Atta, Sugar, Kerosene oil and LPG.
The Executive Engineer PHE Division Kupwara/Handwara was directed to ensure availability of potable drinking water.
The EOs of MC Kupwara/Handwara/Langate were directed for launching a cleanliness drive at the places where main congregations will be held.
The ADC also took review of various other arrangements including deployment of Magistrates, Traffic Management and Medicare facilities and concerned officers were directed to ensure the arrangements are in place ahead of the holy festival.
Meanwhile, ADC Kupwara, ADC Handwara and SDM Karnah have been asked to supervise entire arrangements in their respective jurisdictions.
ASP Kupwara, Tehsildars, DIO Kupwara, ARTO, CAHO, DSHO, XEN, EOs of Municipal Committees and other concerned attended the meeting.
