Jammu : A five days PSO refresher course under the supervision of M.N. Tiwari IGP Armed/ IR Zone Jammu successfully concluded at CTC Sunjwan here on Monday in which 31 PSOs i.e., PSOs of DIG IRP Range Jammu, PSO’s of Jammu based AP/ IR Bn Commandants, Dy Commandants, and DySPs participated. The said course was inaugurated by DIG IRP Range Jammu, Smt. Sarah Rizvi-IPS in the presence of Commandant-IRP 14th Bn.
According to a statement issued from Police Media Centre PHQ Jammu during the course, every effort has been made, not only to increase their physical fitness and stamina but also to hone/sharpen the skills /tactics/and reflexes of the trainees. Indoor classes, and lectures covering a wide range of topics from the role of PSOs & their duties, access control, knowledge/use of latest gadgets, bug devices, drones, and jammers, first response during medical contingencies, crisis management, evacuation of the protectee, management of media during VIP visit , IEDs, protective security formations, motorcade formation and duties of various agents in the motorcade, ambush, and counter ambush were given to the trainees and in the outdoor PT, BPT, PPT, route march, assault, UAC demonstrations regarding ambush/counter-ambush, a search of dead/ injured terrorists, evacuation of VIP/ protectee first response in case of medical emergency were given to the trainees.
Moreover, to boost their mental strength and well-being, a lecture on psychology was delivered by an expert psychologist. To hone their firing skills, practice fire was also conducted. In the evening valediction function was held at CTC Sunjwan during which feedback of the course was taken from the trainees who expressed their happiness and considered it as privilege to be part of this training course and expressed that they have never found such dedicated and enthusiastic staff in any training programme.
