Batch of 139 Haj pilgrims leave from Doda

Doda : A batch of 139 Haj pilgrims was accorded warm send-off by the district administration and locals Tuesday. The batch includes 87 male and 52 female pilgrims hailing from different parts from the district.
The Haj pilgrims were flagged-off from Dakbunglow by Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan in presence of SSP, Abdul Qayoom; President MC, Ved Parkash Gupta; ACP, Ashfaq Khanji (Nodal Officer); GM, DIC, Idrees Lone and other officers.
The DC along with SSP and others interacted with the Hajis and wished them a safe journey. A total of 166 Haj Pilgrims are going for the Haj pilgrimage from Doda, out of which a group of 20 Pilgrims have already left for the holy city of Mecca and 7 pilgrims are leaving on 22nd of June.
The District Administration has made all the arrangements for the convenience of the pilgrims and a dedicated control room under the supervision of Nodal Officer (ACP Doda) has been established to take the calls 24*7 from Hajis and their families. While parting, DC and SSP requested them to pray for the peace, prosperity, and progress of our country, J&K, and the district.
A similar farewell function was organised by the sub district administration Bhaderwah. People from different areas of the mountainous Tehsils gathered at the historical Jamia Masjid Bhadarwah and accompanied the pilgrims to the old bus stand where they boarded the vehicle.
ADC Bhadarwah Chowdhary Dilmir, along with other officers including ASP Vinod Sharma and Naib Tehsildar, gave a warm send-off to the pilgrims, congratulated them and wished them a safe journey.
