Srinagar : To pay homage to a police personnel Fayaz Ahmad resident of Lohersanzi, Kokernag Anantnag, who was injured in a militant attack on 12th July last year at Lalbazar and succumbed to his injuries, a wreath laying ceremony was held at his native village here on Monday.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, officers of Police led by DIG IRP Kashmir, Commandant IRP-10th Bn, Commandant IRP-13th Bn, Commandant IRP-17th Bn, Dy. Commandants of IRP-10th Bn, 13th Bn, DySsP of IRP-10th & 11th Bns, SDPO Kokernag and SHO Kokernag, other senior Police Officers/Officials and locals of the area participated in the ceremony and laid floral wreaths on the mortal remains & paid rich tributes to slain cop for his supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
It may be recalled here militants had on 12th July last year fired upon a Naka party near G.D Goenka Public School area of Lal Bazar Srinagar, resulting in martyrdom of ASI Mushtaq Aham and injuries to two personnel namely, HC Fayaz Ahmad and SPO Abu Bakar.
Meanwhile, the ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar on behalf of J&K Police Parivar conveyed heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the family of the slain cop for his supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty. “We pay our rich tributes to the martyr for his supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty and stand by his family at this crucial juncture”, ADGP added.
