Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two persons and also seized two vehicles from their possession for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of PP Mirgund under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Mohd Nawaz seized two vehicles (tippers) and arrested two persons for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Check Razak Khan Mirgund, adding therein that the accused have been identified as Abdul Gani Bhat S/o Ali Mohammad Bhat R/o Hardubani Kunzer & Sajad Ahmad Shah S/o Abdul Majeed Shah R/o Gonipora Kunzer.
Stating that the police has accordingly registered the case under relevant sections of law in Police Station Pattan and initiated further course of investigation into the case,Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that it will act strictly against the people indulging in illegal mining related activities as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
