Budgam : SKUAST- K in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Budgam on Monday celebrated ‘World Environment Day’ on the theme ‘Solutions to Plastic Pollution’ at KVK premises, here.
Dr. Shazia, SMS Soil Science in her address stressed on saving the environment from scourge of plastic pollution and importance of planting trees for mitigating the climate change.
Dr. Vaseem Yousuf, SMS Plant Protection emphasized the importance of floral wealth as a key source for bees, environmental aesthetics and improving air quality.
About 100 plants were distributed among teachers and students of Govt. Degree College Soibugh Budgam for further plantation. Besides, a Plantation drive was also carried out at Govt. Degree College Soibug.
Meanwhile, a pledge for saving the environment from plastic pollution was taken by the students, faculty of the college along with scientific staff of this Kendra.
