‘World Bicycle Day’ celebrated at B’pora

DC flags-off Bicycle Rally, emphasizes ‘Health is Wealth’

Bandipora : In order to celebrate World Bicycle Day, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Saturday flagged-off a bicycle rally of participants belonging to different age groups besides a large number of students.
The event was organised by the Health department in collaboration with the District Administration.
The DC addressed the participants, expressing his gratitude to everyone for joining the celebration and recognizing the significance of maintaining good health. He emphasized the slogan ‘Health is Wealth’, highlighting the fact that our well-being is a precious asset that must be nurtured through regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
The rally saw an impressive turnout, with individuals of all ages and backgrounds enthusiastically pedaling through the streets of Bandipora, spreading the message of fitness and sustainability.
The bicycle rally covered a significant distance, passing through prominent landmarks in the town. It showcased the unity and enthusiasm of the community in promoting a healthier and greener mode of transportation. Participants displayed colorful banners and placards advocating for clean air, physical fitness, and the benefits of cycling.
Dr. Owais said the event will serve as a catalyst for promoting the adoption of bicycles as a sustainable mode of transportation and a means to improve public health and fitness by encouraging the use of bicycles.
Among others, Chief Education Officer Bandipora, SHO Bandipora, Officials from Youth Services and Sports department besides officials from other departments also attended the event.
