Srinagar : The Director General J&K Police Dilbag Singh on Saturday sanctioned Rs. 1.60 crore as Special Welfare Relief for NoK of deceased police personnel /SPOs who have passed away while in service. The amount has been sanctioned out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund and is one among other various welfare measures of Police Headquarters with its endeavour to provide financial assistance to the families of martyr/deceased Police personnel / SPOs.
According to a statement issued from Police Media Centre, PHQ Jammu the special welfare relief of Rs. 22 lacs each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased Police personnel ASI(S) Omar Gaffar Malik, HC(Tel) Janak Raj, SgCt Nazir Ahmad, Ct. Mohd Lateef and Ct. Dheeraj Pagotra, Followers Naresh Sharma and Kewal Krishan. They passed away due to illness while in service. Moreover one lac each has been already paid to the families/ NoK deceased personnel for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned Unit/Wing.
Moreover, the DGP has also sanctioned Rs 6 Lacs in favour of the family/ legal heirs of deceased SPO Paramjeet Singh, who passed away while he was engaged with the Police department. Out of this amount, rupees 50 thousand was already paid to the family/NoK for performing the last rites as immediate relief. The financial assistance has been given out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund of SPOs.
