DC Shopian chairs meeting with heads of educational institutions on drug abuse

Shopian: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb on Saturday convened a meeting with the Officers of Education Department and other stakeholders to review the control measures being taken in the district against drug abuse.
The DC said deterrence initiatives have also been initiated in educational campaigns to sensitize students and common masses about ill effects of drugs as well as encouraging healthy activities and hobbies to discourage the drug abuse.
He asked the Principal, IMGDC and Chief Education Officer to conduct anti drug seminars, rallies and other programmes on the harmful effects of drug menace so that youth is discouraged from tempting towards drugs.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Principal IMGDC, ACR, SDM, CEO, besides HODs of all educational institutions of the district.
