Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested two militant associates linked with LeT militant outfit during a joint operation with security forces in Frestihar area of Kreeri Baramulla and also recovered arms, ammunition and other incriminating materials from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on specific inputs about the movement of militants in Village Frestihar of Kreeri, Police alongwith Army (29RR) established a motor vehicle checking point (MVCP) at Frestihar Waripora Crossing Kreeri and during checking the joint party intercepted and arrested two suspected persons who on noticing the checkpoint tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully .
Police in it’s statement further said that the said accused have been identified as Suhail Gulzar S/o Ghulam Mohd Sheikh R/o Frestihar Kreeri & Waseem Ahmad Pata S/o Ghulam Qadir Pata R/o Hudipora Rafiabad, linked with LeT militant outfit , adding therein that arms and ammunition including two Chinese Pistols,two Pistol Magazines, 15 pistol rounds and other incriminating materials have also been recovered from their possession.
Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement also said that police has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Kreeri and initiated further investigation into the case.
