DC Kulgam chairs DRSC meeting

Kulgam: District Road Safety Committee (DRSC) meeting was convened on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat at mini-secretariat, here.
The meeting was convened to review the action taken on the previous decisions of the District Road Safety Committee and the general condition of roads in the district.
During the meeting, the chair was informed that rectification of identified black spots has been started.
Executive Engineer from PMGSY informed the chair that crash barriers will be installed at different sites at 06 identified roads.
The DC instructed the concerned to ensure in-depth analysis of all road accidents, and identify spots and ensure rectification on all identified black spots to minimize accidents and fatalities.
During the meeting, ARTO informed the chair that 17 awareness programmes were conducted, besides eye check-up and health check-up camps were also organised for drivers.
The DC instructed ARTO and CMO to make health cards for drivers.
He also instructed College authorities and CEO to organise awareness programmes in colleges and schools to raise awareness among the students.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Viqar Ahmed Giri; ACR, Mir Imtiyaz-ul-Aziz; ARTO, CMO, Dy-SP HQ, Dy-SP Traffic, Executive Engineers from R&B and PMMSY, EOs and other officers.
