Lt Governor announces ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for the next kin of Deepu & victims of bus accident

Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday has approved an ex-gratia of Rs. 5 lakh for the next of kin of Deepu, who was killed by militants in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday, an official spokesman said.

Suspected militants shot dead civilian Deepu, a resident of Udhampur district of Jammu region last night, who was working at a private Circus Mela Amusement Park near Janglaat Mandi in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

The Lt Governor has also approved Rs. 5 lakh each for the next of kin of those who have lost their lives due to a tragic bus accident on Tuesday in Jammu and Rs. 50,000 each for those seriously injured.

At least ten people were killed, and 57 others suffered injuries, four critically when a Katra bound bus met with an accident and fell into a gorge on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Jhajjar Kotli on Jammu outskirts.

Lieutenant Governor also directed the district administration to take care of the treatment and provide all assistance to the bereaved families.
