Jammu : Spokesperson J&K BJP Retd. Brigadier Anil Gupta on Saturday said that construction of a new Parliament building was necessary, as idea was mooted during the regime of PM Narsimha Rao, then Prime Minister of Congress.
In a statement issued on Saturday Brigadier (Retd) Gupta said so far none of the Congress governments thereafter could gather confidence and courage to undertake such a mammoth project. The J&K BJP Spokesman said that the construction was needed a visionary leader like PM Modi to accept and execute the challenge. He said now that building is ready in a record time and being dedicated to the nation on 28th May as an appropriate gift on completion of 75 years of Independence with Indian architecture, concept.
Brig (Retd) Gupta said the hardwork of Indian artisans, the opposition has ganged up at the initiative of Congress to oppose it’s inauguration just for the sake of it. He said ever since the Modi government came to power and started taking head on the matters of national interest.. People friendly initiatives, Congress has followed the agitational path of ‘You propose, we oppose.
“Simply because they are peeved at the fact that limelight and credit is going to someone other than the member of Nehru-Gandhi-Vadra dynasty. What an irony for the nation’s democracy? Those who murdered the democracy are today crying hoarse about the democracy being in danger,”Brig (Retd) Gupta said.
He said that not only that just because the RSS Cadre stood like a rock against the draconian emergency and did not allow it to succeed, the RSS has become the biggest eye sore for the dynasty and it’s loyalists and Darbaris.
“My advice to the central leadership is to ignore these nay-sayers and trouble creators because they would have opposed it in any case, even if the President was to inaugurate. In that case, they would have found some other alibi to oppose,” Brigadier (Retd) Anil Gupta said.
In the present building of the Parliament, there is a provision for the sitting of 543 Members in the Lok Sabha and 250 in the Rajya Sabha. Keeping in view the future requirements, arrangements have been made for a meeting of 888 members in the Lok Sabha and 384 members in the Rajya Sabha in the newly constructed building of the Parliament.
