Jammu: Police on Saturday said that it has recovered six gram of heroine and also arrested a drug peddler at Ganhinagar Jammu.
In a statement issued from District Police Office Jammu Police said that while continuing it’s drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police on Saturday achieved major success by recovering 06 grams of heroin from an accused in the jurisdiction of PS Gandhi Nagar.
Stating that s police team of Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma and assisted by SHO PS Gandhi Nagar Inspr Pankaj Sharma and PSI Sayaf Khan while on naka duty near Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar rounded up one suspected person on a vehicle bearing Registration No. JK02DB/3351, Police in it’s statement further said that during searches Six (6) grams of heroin was recovered from the said accused who was later identified as Sarabjeet Singh S/O Santokh Singh R/O 152/2 Ajit Nagar Tehsil Gadigarh Jammu.
Police in it’s statement furthermore said that in this regard, case FIR No. 131/2023 U/S 8/21/22/25 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and accused was also arrested, adding therein that further investigation of the case is going on.
Police in it’s statement also said that Jammu Police is striving hard and taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware to eradicate drug menace.
