Srinagar: The police on Thursday said that it has seized two vehicles and also arrested two persons on charges of involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, in north kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party led by SHO Police Station Tangmarg under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Imtiyaz Ahmad seized two vehicles (1 Excavator & 1 Tipper) and arrested two persons identified as Mohd Rafiq Zargar S/o Shamim Ahmad R/o Druroo & Danish Ahmad Malik S/o Bashir Ahmad Malik R/o Paraswani for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Ferozpora Nallah Shrai Tangmarg.
Stating that the police later accordingly registered the case against the said under relevant sections of law at the Police Station Tangmarg and initiated further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement advised people not to indulge in illegal mining related activities and appealed them to come forward and share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
