DGP sanctions 51 lacs Spl welfare relief, financial assistance to police personnel

DGP sanctions Rs.2.04 crore as Spl Welfare Relief for NoKs of slain, deceased police personnel,SPOs

Srinagar: Director-General Jammu & Kashmir Police Dilbag Singh on Wednesday sanctioned over Rs 62 lacs as Special Welfare Relief and different orders have been issued from Police Headquarters in this coonection.
According to a statement issued from Police Media Centre, PHQ Srinagar the Special Welfare Relief of Rs 22 lacs each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased police personnel SI Mohammad Amin and SI Rajesh Singh who expired while in service. Besides, Rs one lac has been already paid to the NoK of deceased police personnel for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned units. The financial assistance has been given out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund.
Police Chief on this occasion also sanctioned Special Welfare Relief of Rs 6 lakh in favour of deceased SPO Sukhmeet Sing who expired due to illness during the course of his engagement with the department. The amount has been given out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund of SPOs.
The DGP, has also sanctioned Rs one lac as financial assistance in favour of the wife of martyred Constable Madan Lal for the marriage ceremony of her daughter. “Police Headquarters has been taken many such initiatives to ensure increased help and assistance for the welfare of its personnel and their families”, reads the concluding para of the above quoted police statement.
