Srinagar: J&K BJP Spokesman Brigadier (Retd) Anil Gupta on Wedenesday appealed people to boycott those boycotting inauguration of new Parliament House.
In a statement issued on Wednesday Brigadier (Retd) Gupta regretted that the solemn occasion of inaugurating new parliament house has once again been converted into a political slugfest by the anti-Modi opposition parties when the nineteen Opposition parties led by the Congress on Wednesday announced their decision to boycott the inauguration of the new Parliament building on May 28, saying Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to inaugurate it himself and “completely sidelining” President Droupadi insults the high office of the President and violates the letter and spirit of the Constitution. This was unacceptable, the parties added
“There are many reasons for their ganging up against the government but none is convincing and appear to be mere alibis to discredit the government and to take the sheen off from the historic moment and a grand occasion of nation’s assertion of getting rid of the colonial past and a symbol of its self-reliance,” said Brig Anil Gupta (retd), Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
“The boycott call given by the opposition parties led by the Congress is a deliberate attempt to sabotage the image of the BJP govt at the Centre who has been credited for this great milestone across the country”, said Brigadier (Retd) Gupta, adding that “Modi Government actually deserves the credit for this development because it has not only made the building in a record time of less than 30 months despite the onset of the global pandemic but also the concept, design, interior and architecture is wholly Indian, an apt gift to the nation on completion of 75 years of independence” , stating therein further that It’s a state-of-the-art building catering for the future needs as well.
“A mere look at the 19 parties boycotting the new parliament House inauguration will tell you why they are doing so? These parties are led by promoters of family and hereditary politics, tainted, facing corruption charges, fighting for survival but power hungry. Many of them see themselves as the next PM of the country and don’t see eye to eye with each other when away from public glare. Their single point agenda is Modi Hatao so that they can return to their old corrupt ways of running the government and swallowing the national exchequer for personal goals. They wouldn’t hesitate to even seek foreign intervention or collaborate with forces inimical to our national interest to achieve their aim,” asserted Brig Gupta.
Gupta said that opposition parties are bereft of any common ideology and united for the greed of power. Most of them have been in power in the past and are unable to reconcile to their present state of being powerless.
If they are so badly hurt by the so-called insult of the Constitution, why don’t they resign en masse like the earlier “medal wapsi”? But they will never do that, they are all over ambitious. They want to dethrone the Modi government through toolkits and deceit as they know that people of India don’t trust them. If ever voted to power they will fall like nine pins due to inherent contradictions within the amalgam, warned the BJP spokesperson.
“I humbly appeale my fellow countrymen to boycott those who gang up to boycott the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament House, a symbol of India’s assertion & pride.” Gupta appealed.
As the construction of multi-billion dollar four-storey Parliament house has now been completed, the Govt. has announced that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate new parliament house here on May 28. The four-storey building can house over 1,200 MPs. Earlier, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla met the prime minister on Thursday and invited him to inaugurate the new Parliament building.
