Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers and also recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of PS D H Pora at a checkpoint established at Nandimarag Crossing intercepted two persons carrying naylon bags and identified them as Manzoor Ahmad Mir S/o Abdul Samad Mir R/o Tengbal, Kulgam and Mohan Singh S/o Daleep Singh R/o Behrampora, Gurdaspur Punjab , adding therein that during searches police recovered 11.3 Kgs of Poppy Straw from their possession.
Stating that the police has accordingly registered the case vide FIR No. 46/2023 under relevant sections of law in Police Station D H Pora and also initiated an investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood and warned that it will acts strictly against the people found indulging in drug peddling as per law . Police in it’s above referred statement also resolved to take all measures to make society free from the surge of drug menace.
