Group of 40 youth complete Short-Term Course on “Modern Tunnelling Techniques” conducted by ITI Doda

Doda: Focusing on demand based skill development and skill upgradation, District Administration Doda organised a short-term course on “Modern Tunnelling Techniques” to upgrade the skills of a group of 40 youth to enable them to get sustainable livelihood after attaining the training through Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Doda in association with NHIDCL.
The successful candidates of the 15-day Short Term Course were awarded certificates by the Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan on Tuesday at a simple but impressive function held in the conference hall of the DC office complex, here.
This short-term training course was designed by the faculty of ITI Doda with resource persons from NHIDCL and MGNF.
The group of Fourty (40) trainees were drawn from Polytechnic College Doda and ITI Doda. They were imparted 7- day theory knowledge at ITI Doda and 8- day practical experience at the tunnelling sites and at under-construction bridge sites to enhance their employability in various ongoing developmental projects in the district. Er. Harjeet Singh from NHIDCL and Er. Ashok Kumar (TL-Segmental) imparted training to the candidates on various aspects of tunnelling, bridges, and highways, during the course. The training program equipped them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their career as tunnelling and highway construction professionals keeping in view the construction scenario in the J&K.
The DC Doda appreciated NHIDCL, ITI Doda and MGNF Manujender Singh for organising much needed skill upgradation training for the desirous youth of the district. He informed that such training shall be conducted in future also to make the youth of the district compatible with the demands of the upcoming developmental projects in the District and in the J&K. He urged the youth to enhance their skills as per the demand of the market to get better livelihood and contribute their part in the development of the district and the nation.
The programme was attended by GM NHIDCL, NS Gill; DIO DIPR Doda Mohd Ashraf Wani; Manujender Singh, MGNF for District Doda, Principal Government Polytechnic Javed Hakim, Superintendent ITI Doda Naresh Singh, Er Ashok Kumar Resource Person from NHIDCL, staff of ITI pass out candidates of the course and other concerned officials.
