Samba: To facilitate effective implementation of the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) Phase-II, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Samba, Abhishek Sharma, on Monday inaugurated a one-day district-level training program for master trainers at the DC office.
The training aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of the trainers to effectively implement the SBM program in the district.
During the event, DC Abhishek Sharma emphasized the importance of training in ensuring the success of the flagship Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0. He stressed the inclusion of area-oriented techniques for solid and liquid waste management in the planning process. The use of innovative ideas such as DEWATS, WSP, and Duckweed for liquid waste management was discussed at length.
The DC further highlighted the significance of behavior change to sustain cleanliness practices in the long run. He stated that the Training of Trainers program was a crucial step towards achieving the objectives of SBM Phase-II, as it equipped master trainers with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively implement the program and drive behavior change in the district.
Urging participants to take the training seriously, DC Sharma called for collective efforts to achieve the goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission. He expressed gratitude to the Resource Person from NH Consulting Pvt Ltd, New Delhi, for their valuable contribution.
The training program was attended by various officials, including Sidharth Dhiman, Assistant Commissioner of Panchayat (ACP) Samba, District Panchayat Officer (DPO), Ashima Iqbal BDOs, Executive Officer of Municipal Corporation, and master trainers under SBM. Emphasis was also placed on the convergence of SBM initiatives in urban and rural areas.
The district-level training program marked a significant step forward in the Swachh Bharat Mission’s journey towards creating a cleaner and healthier environment. The efforts to train and equip master trainers will pave the way for effective implementation and long-term sustainability of the mission’s objectives.
