Burglary case solved in Jammu, Stolen Gold &Diamond ornaments, cash Rs 5,57,500/-, other items worth 1 Cr recovered; one thief arrested: Police

Jammu : Police on Monday said that it has solved a burglary case by recovering gold ornaments of 940 grams, Cash of Rs. 5,57,500/- alongwith some other items worth Rs one Crore
In a statement issued on Saturday District Police Jammu said that a complaint was lodged at PS Bahu Fort by one person namely Rajesh Jain S/O Lt. Pawan Kumar Jain R/O H No. 89-P Sector 9 Trikuta Nagar Jammu, adding therein that some unknown thieves entered his house and stole gold/diamond ornaments alongwith some cash and other items worth Rs One Crore.
Police in it’s above referred statement further said that on the above quoted complaint, a case under FIR No 158/2023 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at PS Bahu Fort and investigation was accordingly started, adding therein that
while acting swiftly, the special police teams of Police Station Bahu Fort led by SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari assisted by SHO PS Bahu Fort Inspr Shiv Dev Singh and SI Ayub Khan, PSI Ishfaq Ahmed, SI Manzoor Ahmed did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV footages of the area finally rounded up the suspected person namely Sabir S/O Showket Ali R/O Raipura Thalliya Distt Behriach UP A/P Malik Market Jammu.
Stating that during questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the above case and on his disclosure stolen gold/diamond ornaments weighing around 940 Grams ,cash amount of Rs. 5,57,500/- alongwith some other items worth Rs One Crore were recovered from the possession of the above named accused.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police said that the overall operation was done under the supervision of SP South Mamta Sharma and accordingly the investigation of the case has also been initiated.
