Jammu: Police on Monday said that it has recovered recovered 6 grams of heroin from two accused in the jurisdiction of Police Post Sidhra, besides arresting the drug peddler in Jammu division.
In a statement issued from district police office Jammu Police said that the police team of Police Post Sidhra led by SDPO Nagrota Akash Kohli assisted by SHO PS Nagrota Inspr Vishav Partap Singh and I/C PP Sidhra PSI Arun Kumar while on naka duty at Naka Point Tawi Bridge Sidhra rounded up a suspected person on a vehicle bearing Registration No. JK02BC 9825, adding therein that during searches 6 grams of heroin was recovered from the accused later identified as Murtaza Ali S/O Sikander Ali R/O Ganga Nagar Bantalab Jammu.
Stating that the police has accordingly registered the case under FIR No. 239/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act at PS Nagrota and also arrested the accused, Police in its statement further said that it is working intensively to uproot the chains of drug supply in the region and thorough questioning of the accused is going to reveal the origin of the drugs supply chain.
In the concluding para of it’sabove quoted statement police said that it has been striving hard by taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware of the measures taken to eradicate drug menace and appealed people of the area to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption on 9086100100 or 100 for the cause.
