16 bottles of illicit liquor recovered in Jammu, one Bootlegger arrested: Police

Jammu : Police on Sunday said that it acted promptly and while on patrolling duty recovered 16 bottles of illicit liquor from an accused who was selling illicit liquor at Purkhoo area under the Jurisdiction of Police Station Kanachak.
In a statement issued from District Police Jammu Police said that the special police teams of Police Station Kanachak led by SDPO Domana Vishal Shoor assisted by SHO Police Station Kanachak Inspr Rahul Mahajan did strenuous efforts and finally rounded up one suspect and during checking 16 Bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession and the accused was later identified as Rajinder Sharma S/o Tara Chand R/o Shamachak Tehsil Marh Distt. Jammu.
Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement said that it has registered a case under FIR No 54/2023 U/S 48(f) Excise Act at PS Kanachak and arrested the accused, adding therein that further investigation of the case is going on.
