“E-filing 2.0” inaugurated by Chief Justice of India (CJI) D Y Chandrachud would surely reduce delays and ease work of both the lawyers and as well as the litigants across the country and same holds good for both the lawyers and as well as the litigants in Jammu & Kashmir. Since the inauguration of “ E-filing 2.0” by Chief Justice of the India comes after the introduction of online payment systems for court fees, fines, and other charges and implementation of e-stamping for fast track stamping of legal documents, the trends and tendencies to reduce necessities of physical transactions have been already set into motion . The “e-filing” won’t only ease the job of filing the cases for both the litigants and as well as the lawyers but it would allow ease their job of knowing the status of their cases as well. What matters the most is the fact that “e-filing” in the courts would ease the job of both the lawyers and as well as the litigants both in a pandemic like situation and as well as at times when both the litigants and as well as the lawyers or either of the two find it difficult to reach courts in time due to either occurrence of law & order disturbances or certain unavoidable personal or family compulsions. Keeping in view the fact that electronic movement of files allowed in Jammu & Kashmir almost two years ago to end the decades old practice of bi-annual darbar move in Jammu & Kashmir has not only brought respite to the people but it has also eased the working in the Government offices, the practice of “E-filing” once implemented in Jammu & Kashmir would also ease the working in the courts of Jammu & Kashmir also the way electronic movement of files has eased the working in Government departments. So the uniformity in the working of both the Government departments and as well as the courts would by all probabilities and possibilities be established in both the Government Departments and as well as the courts in coming few months in Jammu & Kashmir like other parts of the country.
“With technological interventions changing fast the working of both the Government and as well as the business operations, the judicial system too has started shifting to digital platform to keep pace with the change in working patterns of both the Government and as well as the business operations across the country” .
With similarities in the patterns of the working of the courts and as well as the working of the Government Departments the delivery of public service would by all probabilities and possibilities be eased and improved to the utter satisfaction of the people in Jammu & Kashmir like other parts of the country. With technological interventions changing fast the working of both the Government and as well as the business operations, the judicial system too has started shifting to digital platform to keep pace with the change in working patterns of both the Government and as well as the business operations across the country .
