Bandipora : In an effort to ensure road safety and discipline, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Bandipora on Saturday has launched a crackdown on traffic violators and booked numerous offenders and implemented a vehicle blacklisting initiative to curb repeated offenses.
During checking, an amount of Rs 50000 was on-spot recovered from traffic violators besides a total number of 05 vehicles were blacklisted.
Sharing details, the ARTO Bandipora, Bilal Ahmad Mir said they conducted a series of operations and checkpoints on Sumbal-Bandipora road. He said the aim was to identify and penalize individuals violating traffic rules, thereby creating awareness and promoting responsible driving habits.
The operations targeted various traffic violations such as overspeeding and reckless driving besides special focus was laid on the installation of speed limiting devices and document checking.
In addition to the penalties imposed on the violators, the ARTO Bandipora has implemented a vehicle blacklisting system to deter repeat offenses. Under this initiative, vehicles involved in severe traffic violations or multiple offenses will be blacklisted, leading to restrictions on their use on public roads.
Blacklisted vehicles will be subjected to impoundment, fines, and other necessary measures to ensure compliance with traffic regulations.
