Jammu: Police on Saturday said that in a quest to stern the menace of illegal mining, a multi-pronged strategy was devised by Jammu Police in which police teams of PS Jhajjar Kotli, Police Station RS Pura, Police Post Sidhra and BPP Gajansoo acted stringently on the specific inputs and raided at a location in their respective area where it seized five vehicles involved in illegal mining.
Details of the vehicle seized, according to a statement issued by District Police Jammu, are as under:
One Dumper bearing registration no JK0CR 6424, by Police Station Jhajjar Kotli, One tractor trolley bearing Chassis No.MBNBEBBUZMNL01111 by Police Station RS Pura, One Tipper bearing Registration No JK02CT- 6160, by Police Post Sidhra Two tractor trollies bearing Chassis Nos MBNGAANUUMJA02278 and Chassis No BZCDS815447S3, by BPP Gajansoo.
Stating that the recoveries were made by SHO Police Station Jhajjar Kotli Inspr Azad Ahmed, SHO Police Station RS Pura Inspr Pawan Kumar, I/C Police Post Sidhra PSI Arun Kumar and I/C BPP Gajansoo ASI Ravinder Bhushan in their respective jurisdiction, Police in it’s statement further said that DMO Jammu was also intimated about the same.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police said “the mining was done in violation of order of High Court of J&K”, adding that “In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law Jammu Police has initiated strict action”.
