Awantipora : Awantipora, May 19. The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Islamic University of Science and Technology on Friday organized a special lecture on ‘current trends in Journalism’. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Danish Manzoor Bhat, Editorial Director, Asia & Sr. VP Editorial & News Innovation, Newsweek.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office IUST Mr. Danish spoke about the current trends in Journalism and encouraged the students to ‘read and research’. He motivated students to do self-criticism, introspect and develop the ‘ability to question’ and verification before disseminating any information.
The session was presided over by Prof. Naseer Iqbal, Registrar IUST who complimented the department for organizing the event. The concluding remarks were presented by Dr. Munejah Khan (Dean School of Humanities & Social Sciences). The event attended by the deans, faculty members, students and scholars of different departments was coordinated by Dr. Mujeeb Liyakat (Head, DJMC).
