JU’s Poonch Campus, JKEDI organise awareness programme on “Entrepreneurship Orientation”

Sericulture most prestigious career which youth of new generation can choose: Dir

Poonch : Poonch Campus University of Jammu, on Thursday organised a one day Awareness Programme on “Entrepreneurship Orientation”. The Awareness Programme was organized in Collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute Poonch.
Director Poonch Campus, Prof. Rakesh Vaid inaugurated the awareness programme in presence of the former Director Prof Dipankar Sengupta, Principal SKC-GDC Poonch Dr Jasbir Singh, Azmat Hussain, District Nodal Officer JKEDI and Rashid Mehmood Office Associates JKEDI, Shuja Mohammad, Employment Officer, DECC Poonch, Harman Singh Young Professional Employment Officer, Dr Rubia Bukhari Campus Officer/ Incharge, Dr Suraksha Chanotra, Kalpna Sudan, Sumya Kapoor, Dr Jyoti Angotra, Mohd Arshad, Mohd Sageer, Sandeep, Arjun, Pummy and Students from both Poonch Campus and SKC-GDC Poonch, attended the awareness programme.
The program aimed to provide an insight into the world of entrepreneurship to the participating students and acknowledged the fact that there is a need to mould young minds towards entrepreneurship, which is the only way forward.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director Poonch Campus Prof Rakesh Vaid congratulated both Poonch Campus and JKEDI Poonch for organizing such an awareness programme for the welfare of the Students of Department of Sericulture Poonch Campus and SKC-GDC Poonch. “Aim behind organizing such programs are to impart training to the Students of Department of Sericulture so that they can start their own venture after the completion of the Course,” he added
He said that certain important regulations to be followed in the university and also made remarks on Sericulture as the most prestigious career which the youth of the new generation can choose.
He further stated that Sericulture being an applied and professional degree, students have ample scope to start their own venture after the completion of their course.
Director Poonch Campus hailed the efforts of outgoing Director Prof Dipankar Sengupta for his contribution to make Poonch Campus the best educational hub of the area. He further said that he will carry forward the same approach for the overall development of Poonch Campus on both academic as well as on administrative front.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dipankar Sengupta while congratulating Poonch Campus and JKEDI Poonch for such initiatives, said that such awareness programmes on Entrepreneurship Orientation will definitely help the students of Sericulture to Choose their future goal.
While lauding the efforts of Campus Officer Dr Rubia Bukhari, he said that it’s really great to see that all the faculty members of the Department of Sericulture Poonch Campus are doing extremely well with regard to academics and administration. “The Contribution of Campus Officer Dr Rubia Bukhari and other faculty members in organizing such events is remarkable and its their hard work that Poonch Campus has established it’s identify on state as well on National level through print and electronic media, ” he said adding further that he is hopeful that all the faculty members will put their Hard Work for the betterment of Poonch Campus.
Principal SKC-GDC Poonch Dr Jasbir Singh in address hailed the efforts of Poonch Campus for organizing awareness programmes on such important topics. He further informed that Poonch Campus and SKC-GDC Poonch will work together to educate the people of Poonch district about the importance of Sericulture.
Speaking on the occasion, District Nodal Officer – JKEDI, Poonch Azmat Hussain provided a detailed insight about the basic prerequisites for creation of a successful enterprise and the importance of such enterprises in a rapidly changing startup environment where innovation and creativity are considered as the drivers of economic and social solidity. He briefed the participants about the unemployment scenario of J&K and the subsequent need to create successful ventures to sustain in such a situation of crisis. He also proposed holding idea pitching camps across the District, so as to get the best ideas out of these fresh minds which can in turn lead to creation of successful business opportunities and in turn drive the economy.
Dr. Rubia Bukhari Campus Officer presented the welcome address on occasion. She formally welcomed new Director Poonch Campus Prof Rakesh Vaid and said that Poonch Campus will strive to work for the betterment of the Poonch district, especially the youths of the area. “Under the guidance of Prof Rakesh Vaid Sir, Poonch Campus will continue to organize such events which will not only benefits the people of the area but will also help to make Poonch Campus a hub of knowledge, She said adding further that the outgoing Director Prof Dipankar Sengupta has worked tirelessly for welfare of the people as well as Poonch Campus.
She further thanked the JKEDI Poonch Specially District Nodal Officer JKEDI, Poonch and Principal SKC-GDC Poonch for their unending support and cooperation towards Poonch Campus.
Shuja Mohammad, Employment Officer, DECC- Poonch, while addressing the participants emphasized on the need to register unemployed youth on Jk employment portal (jakemp.nic.in) & NCS portal (ncs.gov.in) for availing the benefits of various employment related opportunities. He also briefed the participants about implementation of various self employment schemes of Mission Youth (Mumkin, Tejaswini, and Spurring Entrepreneurship Initiative).
