Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party led by Incharge Police Post Wagoora under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri Khalid Ashraf during naka checking at Salam Deedar Baramulla intercepted a suspicious person who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully, adding therein that during searches seven grams of Brown Sugar and 70 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from the possession of the said accused identified as Mohd Ramzan Mir S/o Gh Mohd Mir R/o Kalantra Payeen who was later arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custom.
Stating that police has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Kreeri and initiated an investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood and warned that it will take strict action against the people indulging in anti-social activities as per law.
