G20: DC kick-starts U-19 Inter-Distt Provincial Kho Kho Championship at B’pora

Bandipora : Under the banner of G20, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Thursday kick-started U19 Boys Inter-District Provincial Kho Kho Championship at International Delhi Public School (IDPS) Bandipora.
This highly anticipated event is set to bring together talented young athletes from various districts, showcasing their skills and promoting the sport of Kho Kho.
The program commenced with an oath marking a significant step towards a drug-free India. The ceremony gathered students, teachers, and officials, besides all committed to creating a society free from the clutches of substance abuse.
Padmashree Faisal Ali, JD Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, officers from Youth Services and Sports department were present on the occasion.
Speaking about the championship, the DC expressed his enthusiasm to host the U19 Inter-District Provisional Kho Kho Championship in Bandipora. He said, this event showcases the sporting talent of our young athletes and strengthens the bond between districts.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer on the occasion said the U19 Inter-District Provincial Kho Kho Championship is set to witness the participation of enthusiastic teams from 10 districts of Kashmir division.
He said that the event will feature highly competitive matches, highlighting the agility, speed, and strategic thinking that are integral to the game of Kho Kho. He said Spectators can look forward to witnessing intense moments of athleticism and teamwork as these young athletes strive to outperform their opponents.
While interacting with the teams, Dr. Owais advised them to stay away from the menace of drug abuse and work harder and respect elders to achieve their goals in life.
Sports enthusiasts, students, and the local community members were present on the occasion to witness the thrilling championship matches and show their support for the budding athletes.
Later, a series of colorful cultural programs were presented by the students, which mesmerized the audience.
