DC inaugurates One Day Job Fair at Distt Employment & Counseling Centre Poonch

DC Encourages youth to become Job creators, entrepreneurs

Poonch: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary on Thursday inaugurated a one day job fair held here in District Employment & Counseling Centre (DECC) . Over 600 youth from across the district participated in the Job Fair and were benefited by the information provided by District Employment & Counseling Centre – Poonch.
In the event, Eleven (11) private companies/agencies, including Maruti Suzuki, SBI Life, Life Insurance Corporation, Mirror Infotech Pvt. Ltd & others participated in the job fair to select youth for 200 vacancies. The participating companies shortlisted over 280 candidates for different jobs.
The Deputy Commissioner exhorted the youth to participate in such events & avail the benefits. He also praised the department for the initiative and directed the staff to organize more such events on a regular basis. Besides this, he laid stress on the unemployed youth to avail the benefits of self employment schemes to become job providers rather than the job seekers. The Deputy Commissioner also advised youth to avail benefits of Career Counseling facility which is a prerequisite for success in competitive examination.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Deputy Director – DECC, Mohammad Rafiq appraised the Deputy Commissioner regarding aims & objectives of the said job fair and other deliverables/activities of the department such as Registration, Survey of unemployed youth & implementation of various self employment schemes of Mission Youth (Mumkin, Tejaswini, Spurring Entrepreneurship Initiative).
He emphasized on registration of unemployed youth on Jk employment portal (jakemp.nic.in) & NCS portal (ncs.gov.in) for availing the benefits of various employment related opportunities.
The event was attended by ADDC, Malikzada Sheeraz ul Haq; Lead District Manager, Ashutosh Koul; District Nodal Officer-JKEDI, Azmat Hussain; Prof. Fateh Mohd. Abbasi, Prof. Murtaza Ahmed, Dr Mohd. Ashfaq (Coordinator’s Career Counseling Centre, Govt. Degree College Poonch, Mendhar & Surankote respectively), besides other officials from various agencies.
