Weekly Block Diwas: DDC Rajouri presides over public grievances redressal camp at Lamberi

Rajouri : To listen and redress public grievances, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal on Wednesday chaired a public grievances redressal camp organised as a part of weekly Block Diwas, here at Village Lamberi.
During the event, the public and their representatives raised a number of issues and demands of their areas seeking macadamization of roads, up-gradation of government institutions, meeting paucity of staff, better health care facilities etc.
Specific issues highlighted during the event included implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission, clearance of MGNREGA liability, desiltation and release of water in Rajal irrigation canal.
Other issues included fresh survey under PMAY to cover left out eligible households, meeting paucity of staff in schools. Some more demands were augmentation of drinking water, construction of internal roads, land compensation for NH144-A, implementation of rates fixed for construction material, Connectivity of Plassi Hill road with the main road, meeting shortage of drinking water at Garan, Payment to beneficiaries under State marriage assistance scheme etc.
Officers of different departments also briefed the public about the schemes being implemented in the district to promote self employment and entrepreneurship in different sectors and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same. They also responded to the queries pertaining to their departments raised by the public during the event.
Responding to issue of scarcity of water, the EXN Jal Shakti informed that 08 schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission have been sanctioned for the block, similarly the BDO, EXN Mechanical and other officers redressed the issues on the spot and assured the public that the other issues will also be redressed shortly.
The DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues projected by the public during the event and assured them that all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner.
Underlining the objective of the block diwas, he said that this public outreach event is aimed at better coverage of government schemes, enhanced interaction with common man and effective monitoring of the developmental projects.
Seeking the cooperation of the public in the developmental process, the DDC urged the public to work side by side with the district administration for the peace, prosperity and development of the district.
Highlighting several government schemes and programs meant for the welfare of the general public, he urged the people to come forward and avail the benefits of the same.
Stressing on close coordination between the frontline workers and public representatives, he asked them to work in tandem for the prompt delivery of essential services and holistic and sustainable development of the region.
He also asked the concerned officers to gear up their field machinery and ensure that the difficulties of the people are addressed and resolved at the earliest.
Among the others, DDC Member Seri, Sangeeta Sharma; ADC Nowshera, Kartar Singh besides other district and sectoral officers and sarpanches, panches and public in large numbers attended the event.
