Police Post Langate arrests One peddler, Narcotics Recovered

Handwara|May, 18: Continuing its efforts against drug peddling, Handwara Police arrested one peddler and recovered narcotics in the Langate area. 
A police spokesman in a statement issued here said that on May 17, 2023, a police party of Police Post Langate, while on naka duty at Bunpora Langate on the Baramulla-Handwara highway, apprehended one person who had attempted to avoid the police party suspiciously. 
“On search, around 80 grams of Charas-like substance was recovered from his possession,” the spokesman said, adding that the person has been identified as Shabir Ahmad Mir S/o Mohammad Subhan R/o Bunpora Langate.  The spokesperson said that in this regard an FIR No.112/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Handwara and an investigation was initiated. Meanwhile, the general public and people or langate, in particular, have hailed the police action against the drug peddlers.   Praising police for the catch, they said that immediate actions like this must continue aimed to eliminate drugs from society for a better tomorrow.
