Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested three persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals and also seized three vehicles in north Kashmir’s district Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party led by In-charge PP Delina under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Sajjad Bukhari seized three vehicles (2 dumpers, 1 excavator) and arrested three persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Singhpora Baramulla, adding therein that the accused persons have been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Mir S/o Abdul Majeed Mir R/o Malmapanpora Sopore, Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohammad Sultan Bhat R/o Hathlanga Sopore & Balwinder Singh S/o Brij Lal Singh R/o Narayanpur Pathankot.
Stating that police has accordingly registered the case under relevant sections of law in Police Station Baramulla and initiated further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement advised people not to indulge in illegal mining related activities and appealed them to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
