Srinagar : Police alongwith Excise department on Tuesday destroyed poppy cultivation in North Kashmir’s tehsil headquarters Sopore.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that alongwith Excise Department during a special drive launched against drug cultivation, it has destroyed a huge cultivation of Poppy spread over nearly about 8 Kanals at different patches in Seer Jagir in the jurisdiction of Police Station Tarzoo. Police in it’s statement warned people indulging in cultivation of Poppy or any other Narcotic substances anywhere in the district headquarters Sopore and said that it will act tough aganst them and advised them to destroy the same on their own, as otherwise, they would be strictly dealt-with..
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police appealed people to extend cooperation to it by coming forward with any information regarding any kind of anti-social activity in their neighbourhood.
