Poonch: An event was organised at Government AMT School Poonch to mark International Dengue Day.
Speaking at the event, Chief Medical Officer Poonch, Anis Altaf Nabi highlighted that dengue can be prevented by controlling the mosquito population through measures such as removing stagnant water sources, using mosquito nets and wearing protective clothing. He said that such events will continue to be organised in the future to create more awareness about dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases.
Deputy CMO, Parvaiz Ahmed Khan spoke about the importance of educating the public about the prevention and control of dengue.
International Dengue Day is observed every year on 16 May to raise awareness about the prevention and control of dengue, a mosquito-borne viral disease prevalent in many parts of the world.
