GDC Kalakote organises workshop on ‘Solid waste Management’

Kalakote : Department of Environmental Sciences Government Degree College Kalakote, in collaboration with NSS unit of the college, on Tuesday organized a workshop on ‘Solid Waste Management’ under the banner of G20 Mission & LiFE Initiative of Government of India.
The Programme was organized under the patronage of the college Principal, Dr. Seema Arora. The event commenced with the welcome address by. Khalida Parveen (Environmental Sciences). She informed the participants about the motto of programme. Students from different semesters of the college actively participated in the event.
The Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of the students and congratulated the faculty members for organizing such events. She emphasized the students on learning the segregation of waste at source and recycling the plastic waste for achieving sustainable development.
Thereafter a cleanliness drive was carried out in the college premises and the collected waste was segregated and dumped in an eco friendly manner. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Himanshu Kumar (NSS Programme Officer).
