Udhampur : On the directions of Excise Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma and under the direct supervision of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Kusum Sharma, an Excise department team of Udhampur-Reasi Excise Range led by ETO Rupali Vaid on Tuesday Conducted surprise inspections of liquor vends in District Udhampur.
During the inspection, UPI Payment System, POS, display of MRP in flex, vend information board and CCTV working/Non working was checked.
During inspection, strict instructions were passed regarding the adherence to current Excise Policy 2023-24, Excise Act and rules.
During the course of inspection, M/s Santosh Kumari, Wine Shop Ramnagar, TAC W.No 5 and M/s Baljit Singh Baloria Wine Shop MC Udhampur and M/s Mohammad Sarber Wine shop, w.no. 3 were booked under section 49(b), J&K Excise Act, Smvt. 1958.
The Excise Department has launched a multi-pronged strategy to prevent overcharging i.e UPI Payment System/POS, display of MRP in flex and vend information board. If any vendor sells the liquor above the MRP prescribed by the Excise Department, then complain to the department officers on the following mobile No. mentioned in the vend information board and action will be taken immediately.
