DC Kathua appraises implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission, PHE sector schemes

Kathua : Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rakesh Minhas on Monday chaired a meeting of concerned officers to appraise the progress achieved under the PHE sector, including implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.
At the outset, Superintending Engineer PHE (Mech) Rural Circle Bodh Raj apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the latest physical and financial progress of works made on Retrofitting and Augmentation of Water Supply Schemes (WSSs) being executed under Jal Jeevan Mission in the district. Under the mission, water supply schemes are being developed to provide potable water connections to each household.
The DC directed the concerned to expedite the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) with steadfastness to complete all 299 schemes to achieve the objective of Har Ghar Nal Se Jal.
The DC also exhorted the DFO concerned to expedite the forest clearance cases after observing all codal formalities and extant rules where schemes of Jal Jeevan Mission are being executed.
The DC further emphasised the need for well-devised pipe layout plan that would ensure the pipes are laid on state land in a manner that would prevent the need for repeated extraction or shifting and would also avert disruption of water supply.
While reviewing the physical and financial progress of PHE sector schemes, the DC directed the concerned to adhere to timelines and saturate all components for timely completion of the works.
XEN PHE, Vikram Dogra, Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh and Engineers of Irrigation, Flood Control, and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
