Srinagar : The Police State Investigation Unit -II Srinagar on Thursday presented chargesheet before the NIA Court Srinagar in the case under FIR No. 41/2022 of Police Station Shalteng against five militant associates.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that SIU-II Srinagar produced a chargesheet in a case under FIR number 41/2022 under section 7/25 A.Act, 13, 18, 23, 39, UA(P) Act of Police Station Shalteng before Special designated NIA Court Srinagar, adding therein that the case pertains to the recovery of huge cache of arms & ammunition by Srinagar Police, 2RR & 44bn CRPF at a checkpoint established at Tri-junction Narbal national highway on 20th November 2022 from the possession of three militant associates.
Stating that the accused were identified as Rouf Safeer Dar S/o Abdul Rashid Dar R/o Khanday Mohallah Pattan, Javiad Ahmed Khanday S/’o Gh Hassan Khanday R/o Khanday Mohallah Pattan and Mohd Iqbal Dhobee S/o Manzoor Ahmed Dhobee R/o Aram Mohallah Pattan, Police in it’s statement said that the above named accused were transporting arms & ammunition in a TATA vehicle bearing registration number JK15/2207 from Srinagar to Pattan on the instance of one militant namely Hamza linked with LeT militant outfit and and the said vehicles which was used in the commission of crime was also attached for further proceedings. Police in its statement furthermore said that when the case was thoroughly investigated, it revealed the involvement of two militant associates namely Shakir Ahmed Zargar S/o Nisar Ahmed Zargar R/o Khanday Mohallah Pattan, Waris Ramzan Gojre S/o Mohd Ramzan Gojre R/o Malpora Pattan and their main partner in the crime LeT outfit militant Hamza.
Stating that police after completing the investigation in the case, has now closed the case against the said 5 militant associates under section 173 CrPC, Police in it’s statement furthermore said that the charge sheet was produced before the NIA Court Srinagar on Thursday.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police said that the investigation of the case will continue under section 173(8) CrPC for arresting other persons involved in the transportation of arms and ammunitions from Srinagar to Pattan Baramulla.
