Mega Block Diwas held at Chewa Ullar of Tral, Pulwama

Massive public participation, a reflection of peoples’ confidence in public outreach programme: DC

Pulwama: The District Administration Pulwama under the chairmanship of the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom on Wednesday held Block Diwas at Government Upper Primary School Chewa Ullar, Tral.
Several public issues including construction of Tral Pahalgam road, road connectivity to uncovered areas, Upgradation of Mandoora High School and other Primary schools, availability of playground for youth, Boundary wall around Schools, completion of under construction School buildings, providing of bore well and better drinking water facilities for students and for the whole area, allopathic primary health Centre in the area, development of irrigation khul and augmentation of the health infrastructure were projected by the local people and PRIs.
Dr Basharat gave a patient hearing to the grievances raised and assured quality disposal of genuine issues in a time-bound manner.
The DDC directed the concerned department heads/officers to resolve the same expeditiously and submit the action taken report before next scheduled block diwas. Various hurdles and bottlenecks in the social security schemes were also resolved on the spot with the convergence of multiple departments.
He also gave on-the-spot directions for the redressal of many issues of urgent nature as per the competence of concerned departments.
While interacting with the local people, Sarpanchs, Panchs, and the delegations, the DDC said that the Block Diwas initiative of the Government and Administration is contributing immensely to good governance.
On the occasion, the DDC highlighted objectives of the various governmental programmes informing the public of various schemes and campaigns.
He encouraged the participants to highlight their individual issues also to avoid their visits to government offices. He also directed the District and Sectoral officers to ensure service counter of their respective departments at Block Diwas meetings so that the public can reap the benefits of different government schemes without visiting offices repeatedly.
The DDC directed the concerned officers to exhort for the completion of ongoing projects, roads & bridges. He urged officers to complete the works within the shortest possible time.
He also directed the concerned officers to be proactive and remain accessible to the people so that the purpose of the initiative is fulfilled.
The DDC stressed on the eradication of drug abuse from the area. He stressed the people, elders, youth and the students to take every possible step to keep away from drugs.
Speaking about drug abuse, DDC said that Drug not only kills youth but exterminates families.
ADC Tral while speaking on the occasion, highlighted issues of public importance and said that no stone is being left unturned in fulfilling the demands of the people in the shortest possible time.
DDC was accompanied by DDC Member Tral, Dr. Harbachan Singh; ADC Tral, Sajid Yehya Naqash; Tehsildar Tral, District and Sectoral officers and other concerned.
Similar events were held at Town Hall Pulwama where ADDC Pulwama, Ab. Aziz Sheikh chaired the Block Diwas and at Achegoze Pulwama Block Diwas was presided over by ADC Awantipora, Zaffar Ahmed.
